'X-Arcade Xinput' is a software solution to make the X-Arcade work as an Xinput gamepad. Some games now require an Xinput controller (such as Xbox 360 or Xbox One) to work, and Xinput will work with most DirectInput games as well. Method 2: X-Arcade Xinput(Recommended Software Emulation Solution, huge thanks to Mike Wyatt! )

To test it on PC see Windows Gamepad testing. An interesting history lesson on these here.

You can also use our 2in1 adapter or PS4 adapters, but this will require using a special driver and software such as DS4Windows, InputMapper, or MotioninJoy (we can't offer support for any of these). These options allow you to change modes just like on a console and works with any DirectInput or Xinput games.

The easiest way is to use our new Tri-mode PCB, but you can also use our Xbox 360 adapter kit or Xbox One adapter kit (both requires either a PS2 adapter or 5in1 adapter) to connect your X-Arcade to a PC via USB.

Below we show you how to make your X-Arcade controller work as an Xinput device or DirectInput device on PC. Xinput works with both Xinput games and most DirectInput games, so we recommend it. But some newer games, such as Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat X, Street Fighter IV & V, and Steam, require the newer Xinput protocol that was introduced with the Xbox 360 gamepads (and now Xbox One). The original way for an input device to work as a gamepad was through the DirectInput protocol, which still works on the vast majority of gamepad-enabled games. The MenuMaker and The Launcher sites are maintained by me, so any questions about those sites should be addressed to me.While the X-Arcade controllers work as a keyboard with the default PC connection, there are ways to make it act like a gamepad instead for games that don't offer great keyboard-based controller support. I cannot be held responsible for any mis-information or content on the sites, or if the sites are updated or maintained. Note: The above links are to websites that are not managed by me. But you can probably find sites that offer free downloads on the internet, I just wont be able to help you find them. That being said, I will not post any places where you can get the roms, and please don't ask me to. I think the rule is that if you own the actual circuit board to a game, then it is ok to have the rom of that game. Someone most likely owns the copyright to the game rom. The roms are stored in a folder called ROMS, located in the MAME folder.Īlthough all the programs I have listed above (except WinXP), are free downloads, most of the Mame Roms are not. The rom contains all the files needed to emulate and run the game. Mame runs a game by opening the games rom. Roms: You might ask what are Roms? Roms are the actual game files. It allows me to test the rom in question, remove it from the list if it is bad, change the roms description displayed by GLaunch, or add new roms to the GLaunch list. GLaunchMan: This is another program I wrote to allow me to manage GLaunch game lists. I haven't got this program ready for downloading yet, so it's not available to the public, YET. RomMan: This is a program I wrote that allows me to test a rom before adding it to my collection. WinCab Jukebox: A pretty neat little program that will play your MP3 music like a jukebox. MenuMaker: This is a program I wrote to allow me to create Favorite Games lists for GLaunch. GLaunch: A Front End menu program to list all your games.

The Launcher: a utility program written by me. KeyWiz Uploader2: Programming utility for KeyWiz keyboard encoder. Windows XP: Operating system that came with the computer. Here is a description of each program listed above: When the blue button is pressed while in GLaunch, GLaunch exits and The Launcher gives you the chance to go into Windows to do housekeeping, or it will shutdown the machine. Once the keywiz is programmed (about 10 seconds), the Uploader2 starts The Launcher.Īlso from GLaunch, MenuMaker, WinCab Jukebox, RomMan, and GLaunchMan can be run. This is only necessary because I am changing one of the default keys to F7 for the Load and Save buttons. This uploads the key map to the KeyWiz keyboard encoder. On bootup, after Windows loads, a program called "KeyWiz Uploader2" starts. Ok, thought I would take a minute to detail the software being used on The Rage.
